Tampa Museum of Art has received a pledge of $3 million from longtime supporters Frank and Carol Morsani, reports the Tampa Bay Business Journal. The donation — which includes a planned gift component — will go toward the museum's capital endowment and construction. The TMA broke ground on a new building, set to open in fall 2009, in April.
The three-story atrium on the first floor of the 66,000-square-foot museum will be named the Frank and Carol Morsani Lobby Atrium in recognition of the donation. The Morsanis also contributed to the first TMA construction project, after the museum was founded in 1979.
