Under the hands of Italian sculptor, Fabio Viale, banal objects are recontextualized on marble. In his first solo show “Stargate” at Sperone Westwater in New York, Viale presents sculptures of grocery crate and paper bags in a larger-than-life scale. Intricate and uncannily realistic, these monumental pieces are a result of almost five years of work at his studio in Turino, Italy. Viale shares with ARTINFO the creative process and significance in each of his monumental pieces.
