New contemporary art fair, Art13 London will run March 1-3 at the Olympia Grand Hall in West Kensington with 129 leading galleries, including Maria Stenfors, whose curated booth will show the work of three female European artists: Astrid Svangren, Julia Pfeiffer, and Mela Yerka.
Stenfors, originally from Sweden, moved to London in 1996 (taking two years out to live in Tokyo). She opened her own gallery almost three years ago in the King’s Cross neighborhood, which currently represents six artists and shows seven exhibitions a year. Stenfors is drawn to the creative hub of this large city, which somehow manages to retain a “village feel.”
“I love how the city and its dynamism always pushes you to achieve your best, and to keep on thinking onwards. I always find it so inspiring hearing about my friends’ exciting new ventures. The city seems to allow your full potential to flourish.”
Here, Stenfors guides visitors to some of London's hidden gems.
