Phillips de Pury Announces Its First Ever Selling Show
In a unique move for an auction house, Phillips de Pury & Co. announced it will be representing Mario Testino for the sale of his photographic prints and will be hosting an exhibition of his work comprising 36 photographs from Jan. 28 to Feb. 17, 2006. Included in the show will be iconic images of Madonna, Kate Moss, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jude Law, along with a selection of his work for Gucci, Vogue and Vanity Fair.

As part of what it called a new strategic development, Phillips de Pury said it will regularly be holding selling shows in its exhibition space in Chelsea. Starting in January 2006, the exhibitions will run alongside the companys regular auction schedule and will include a select number of leading designers, photographers and artists.
"[We are] proud to stage [our] first selling exhibition of some of Marios best works to date, said Simon de Pury, the auction house's chairman. "He has created an outstanding body of work. His uniquely personal vision of glamour and highly charged sensuality make him one of the most influential artists living today."

Said Testino: This show has given me an opportunity to look hard at the different aspects of my work and make a selection which I feel best reflects my current preoccupations. Phillips de Pury has established itself as a leader in the field of contemporary art. Its vision and expertise has made its program one of the most exciting on the art circuit, and I am already very much enjoying our collaboration.
Testino has photographed many of the worlds most famous people documenting the modern obsession for the celebrity. Living in London, he continues to photograph the British Royal Family whilst also contributing to the image development of Burberry, Gucci, Michael Kors, Estee Lauder, Valentino and Versace.
