Art galleries participating in the upcoming Art Basel Hong Kong, which runs May 23-26, are likely wondering whether the fair's new management, with the leverage of the Art Basel brand, will be able to bring in fresh flocks of collectors. As for the collectors, the most important question for them is simple: “What will the galleries bring?”

With about 245 exhibitors from around the world participating, it's likely to be a diverse selection. A few high-profile international names have already been announced — think Damien Hirst, Louise Bourgeois, Subodh Gupta, Takashi Murakami, and Yayoi Kusama. These, of course, will be mixed together with a good crop of young and emerging artists from the region. With the fair on the horizon, ARTINFO has selected a few choice works that are worth looking forward to.
