Five Copenhagen galleries have teamed up to launch a new art fair, CHART — the first Danish fair focused exclusively on contemporary art.

The inaugural edition will run from August 30 to September 1, 2013, and has been conceived by founding dealers Galleri Susanne Ottesen, Galleri Bo Bjerggaard, Andersen’s Contemporary, V1 Gallery, and David Risley Gallery as a space for collaboration. Exhibitors will be encouraged to pool their address books and co-organize events, rather than cater only to their own clients.

The fair will take place in the Kunsthal Charlottenborg, in the heart of Copenhagen. There will be no booths in the traditional sense. All the galleries have been invited to submit curated projects and will be attributed spaces accordingly.

All the exhibitors in CHART’s first outing hail from Scandinavia, but ARTINFO UK was told that the selection was likely to open up to international galleries in the future.
