SINGAPORE – The World Gourmet Series Awards of Excellence crowned Tippling Club as Restaurant Of The Year, while Patrick Heuberger of Le Bistrot du Sommelier took the Chef Of The Year trophy.
Janice Wong of 2am:dessertbar, won the Pastry Chef of The Year award. Wong was just named Asia’s Best Pastry Chef at the inaugural Asia’s 50 Best restaurants awards.
Lee Boon Seng of OSIA, Resorts World Sentosa was named Rising Chef Of The Year, while Daisuke Kawai, Les Amis Restaurant was named Sommelier Of The Year.
Organizers received over 1,000 entries across 28 categories.
The Lifetime Achievement Award was, for the first time, presented to two winners: Ernst Huber, chairman of Huber's Butchery, and Willment Leong, the culinary founder of Thailand Culinary Academy.
