The mood at this year's ARCO Madrid has felt decidedly conservative in comparison to prior editions. With a bolstered VIP program that cut down on press attendance, collectors roam the halls unencumbered, and were buying throughout the initial three days; nevertheless, with halls themselves feeling oversized in proportion to the booths and number of visitors, the fair itself has felt slightly empty.
