Montblanc Showcases Mother-of-Pearl Craftsmanship
Montblanc's Pétales Entrelacés Motif from the Princess Grace of Monaco Collection

The elegant Princess Grace of Monaco Timepiece collection was first launched by Montblanc in 2011 as an homage, the company said, to the late princess’s uncomplicated and effortless glamour. This season, Montblanc has added new models to the series, including two haute joaillerie watches each with a lovely bracelet showcasing the Maison’s craftsmanship.

The Pétales de Rose Motif timepiece derives its name from the shape of the graceful white gold link bracelet which is set with 555 brilliant cut diamonds. The white mother of pearl dial has a similar petal motif created with gemstones, while the inside and bezel of the dial are further richly set with diamonds.

The Pétales Entrelacés Motif (interlaced petals) is set with 8.15 carat worth of diamonds. It dial is a tribute to the skills of the dial-makers, who have created a complex pattern on a mother of pearl dial which has also been cut out in the middle and laid on top of a second mother of pearl piece, thus creating a sculptural appearance.

A portion of the sale for each piece will be given to the Princess Grace Foundation-USA which funds young prospects from the fields of acting, dance, and film. The foundation awards stipends, arranges educational contracts, and offers on-going scholarships.
