HONG KONG — A collection of imperial Russian crafts en route to Hong Kong Heritage Museum will feature some of the most precious jeweled eggs created by Peter Carl Fabergé (1846–1920). Included in the upcoming exhibition “Fabergé: Legacy of Imperial Russia,” are four of the master jeweler and goldsmith’s creations for the imperial family:  “Trans-Siberian Train Easter Egg”; the “Moscow Kremlin Easter Egg,” which is the tallest of all the imperial Fabergé creations; the “Memory of Azov Easter Egg” from 1891; and the unfinished “Constellation Tsarevich Easter Egg.”

The 200 items in the show, on loan from the Moscow Kremlin Museums and the Fersman Mineralogical Museum of Russia, trace the history of craftsmanship in the former empire. Though  Fabergé, a leading figure in the rise of Russian jewelry craftsmanship in the late 19th century, is considered the highlight, the exhibition also includes rare religious artworks, ornaments, and jewelry by Russian craftsman in the 1800s-1900s. It will run from February 6 through April 29.
