For  Shanghai-based sculptor, Wang Xieda, the evolution of Chinese calligraphy actuates inspiration for his three-dimensional models. "Subject Verb Object" at James Cohan Gallery, New York, is Wang’s first solo exhibit in the United States. Cast bronze works from his previous series are curated with recent large-scale rattan and paper pulp sculptures in the gallery’s minimalist space, expressing abstract intricacies of the language and Wang’s evolution in experimenting with ancient materials.
