Leave it to red carpet go-to Monique Lhuillier to make allover sequins and Barbie-style blue eyeshadow look cool. The designer began her spring 2013 show with a parade of peplum looks splashed with digital prints of cranes, fish scales, and koi before transitioning into her signature evening wear. Gowns came in delicate chiffon drenched in gold beads, as well as diaphanous silks and shredded laces in shades of teal and cobalt vibrant enough to stand up to the barrage of camera flashes that follows her star clientele.
