Any late night at Electric Room, the Meatpacking District’s notorious den, could be considered a sort of theater. But last night, Hudson Jeans and Georgia May Jagger turned the hot spot into a cabaret, with a performance from Dragonette and a DJ set from Au Revoir Simone. Among the downtown set that piled into the tiny environs was former New York Ranger Sean Avery, who skated from one banquette to the next. At this point he’s as comfortable at a nightclub as he is on the ice, perhaps even more so now that he’s retired. Like Avery, we partook in the tequila cocktails and proximity to a Jagger — so much so that, even after ducking out for another engagement, we returned again at midnight to find the joint going even stronger. You can’t beat a good cabaret.
