The Spice Girls

Who can forget the Sporty Spice’s track pants, Scary Spice’s leopard suits, Baby Spice’s baby-doll dresses, Ginger Spice’s Union Jack mini dress, and Posh Spice’s skin-tight PVC frocks? The Spice Girls influenced many fashion trends during the ’90s, when teenagers mimicked the style of their favorite member. While it’s been 15 years since the girl group exploded into pop stardom, their interesting costume choices are still embedded in the cultural zeitgeist.

Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham decided it was time that the outrageous looks go to a good cause and so she will be putting them up for auction, reports the Daily Telegraph. Fans can get their piece of the “Girl Power” movement this December at the sale, which will coincide with the launch of Spice Girls-themed musical, “Viva Forever!” in London. All proceeds will go to Save the Children and Children in Need.

“I’ve got all my costumes still,” Beckham told the Mirror. “I can’t wait for Harper to grow a little so she can have some. But the rest I’d like to put up for charity, I think it would be a fantastic thing to do.”

Sadly, the iconic Union Jack dress Geri “Ginger Spice” Halliwell wore to the 1997 Brit Awards will not go on the auction block — it currently calls the Hard Rock Café Las Vegas its home. But rest assured, Beckham will contribute some of her PVC dresses, Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown is going to throw in her leopard-print cat suits, Melanie “Sporty Spice” Chisholm will add a few of her Adidas tracksuits, Emma “Baby Spice” Bunton will offer some of her frocks, and Halliwell will give up some of her mini-dresses.
