Design Miami is a fair set apart. Literally, it is housed in a pair of massive tents set across a parking lot from the main event. But it was the uncrowded, relaxed atmosphere that really made the difference. With just 29 exhibitors in spacious display areas rather than walled booths, there was plenty of room to take in the mix of modern and contemporary wares, even with Audi claiming about a quarter of the show floor for its brand-building presentation.
