Several designers who showed their spring/summer 2012 collections during New York Fashion Week injected them with art, some working directly in collaborations with contemporary artists, others reinterpreting works by celebrated masters. Laura and Kate Mulleavy, the sisters behind Rodarte, recalled their childhood love for post-impressionist artist Vincent van Gogh with sunflower- and starry night-emblazoned dresses, while Jason Wu called upon graffiti artist KAWS to create delicate flower petal prints for his feminine creations. ARTINFO closes New York Fashion Week by curating ten of the best art-inspired looks, juxtaposing the garments against the works that influenced them.
