The mysterious mustachioed man who stole a poster painting by street artist KAWS from fashion designer Marc Ecko's offices may now be identified — and, no, that creepy hipster mustache wasn't a disguise. It was real. Enno Tianen, who goes by Lewy, was caught by an elevator security camera in Ecko's building, and that image matched up with a mug shot found by the NYPD, reports NY1.

The 31-year-old made off with the $100,000 poster in a true theft, notes the New York Observer, and not, as ARTINFO had earlier hypothesized, an Ecko marketing stunt. The poster "authentically got boosted," Ecko told the Observer. Tianen just didn't do a very good job of it.
