Chayanne is touring the US with his Desde El Alma Tour and will perform at MSG’s Hulu Theater on September 7.

Chayanne has been on a break from touring since more than two years and his fans are craving to see him on the stage again. The Desde El Alma Tour kicked off in San Jose, CA this August and has stops in more than 15 cities. Though most of us know him as Chayanne, his real name is Elmer Figueroa Arce. Born in 1968 this Puerto Rican Latin pop singer, composer and actor has a huge fan following. As a solo artist, he has released 21 albums and sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

He started his solo career way back in 1984. His first deal happened with RCA Victor through which he released ‘Chayanne es mi Nombre’ his debut album. In 1986, his second album ‘Sangre Latina’  was released, again by RCA Victor.

Chayanne left RCA Victor after three years and switched to Sony Music, through whom he emerged with his first self-titled album. The album contained a well balanced blend of dance tracks and ballads. His musical formula clicked with the audiences making him an overnight sensation. The album had two hit songs, "Peligro de Amor" the ballad penned by Michael Sullivan and Paulo Massadas and that one song which consolidated Chayanne’s reputation of an all round performer. The track was the Honorio Herrero written "Fiesta en America."

In 1988, Chayanne released his second self-titled album. This album comprised of many hit singles including "Tu Pirata Soy Yo", "Fuiste un Trozo de Hielo en la Escarcha," and "Este Ritmo Se Baila Asi." During this time, Chayanne also became a spokesman for Pepsi. The Spanish speaking advertisement was broadcast on national television coast to coast during 1989’s Grammy Awards telecast. Next year in 1990, Chayanne released the album Tiempo de Vals. This album featured some of his best-selling singles like the title track, which was composed by Jose Maria Cano. The other singles of the album were "Completamente Enamorados" and "Daria Cualquier Cosa."

The performer earned his second Grammy nomination for the album Atado a Tu Amor, which featured the song "Dejaria Todo." This was the singer’s first number-one hit since 1992. He continued his success with Simplemente which had “Candela” the top-ten hit and also "Yo Te Amo" the number-one hit. The spree of chartbusters continued with the albums Grandes Exitos, Sincero and Mi Tiempo. This enigmatic performer has seamlessly hopped from one milestone to another, and is no mood to look back; he just wants to give his best once he’s on stage.

The show is on September 7, 2018 at The Hulu Theater, Madison Square Garden, 4 Pennsylvania Plaza, New York, NY 1000
