The exhibition “Roma 1950–1965,” which is organized by Fondazione Prada and presented by Prada at Prada Rong Zhai, is currently on view.

As per the press release shared by Prada, the exhibition is conceptualized and curated by Fondazione’s artistic and scientific superintendent Germano Celant. As the name suggests, the exhibition is about the exciting cultural climate in Rome post World War II. It is about the lively art scene that developed during the period.

The exhibition brings together more than 30 paintings as well as sculptures by various artists. The artists exhibiting include Carla Accardi, Mirko Basaldella, Afro Basaldella, Alberto Burri, Ettore Colla, Giuseppe Capogrossi, Pietro Consagra, Nino Franchina, Piero Dorazio, Gastone Novelli, Toti Scialoja, Antonio Sanfilippo, and Giulio Turcato.

The visual arts show also explores the important role that Rome, the capital of Italy, played in the Italian culture and moviemaking. This shows in a collection of documents from the period. The documents and artifacts on display recall the historical and artistic contexts of their day.

The press statement further reads, “The exhibition is part of cultural events and cultural initiatives inaugurated last autumn with a fashion show featuring the Prada Resort 2018 collection as well as an exhibition dedicated to restoration work conducted around the building and previous architectural efforts conducted by both Prada and Fondazione Prada.”

The exhibition is currently on view through May 27, 2018, at Prada Rong Zhai, Shanghai
