Two museums have made it onto a list drawn up by the U.S. Conference of Mayors of "ready to go" infrastructure projects for president-elect Barack Obama's proposed economic recovery program, Artnet reports. The mayors' list, which suggests ventures ranging from new sewers to new schools and parks, includes more than 11,000 projects in more than 427 cities, costing more than $73 billion and creating more than 847,000 jobs.

One proposal involves the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where an $80 million reconstruction of the institution's loading docks and other infrastructure improvements are estimated to create nearly 900 jobs. The city of Philadelphia is also prepared to spend $20 million on improvements for its "Avenue of the Arts," a project that could result in 222 jobs.

The second museum on the mayors' list is the Miami Art Museum, which is planning a new $87 million building on a 29-acre park on Biscayne Bay. Miami hopes to receive $70 million in funding for the construction of the park, which would create 1,400 jobs.
