Brazilian Buckets and Wishful Bracelets

Droves of artists, art-worlders, and curiosity-seekers joined the New Museum's curatorial staff and the occasional celebrity (Kristen Dunst!) last night for the opening of Rivane Neuenschwander's exhibition. Featuring dripping buckets, paranoiac interiors, and a room filled with multicolored wish bracelets that proved unexpectedly moving for many viewers, the show — "A Day Like Any Other" — was the Brazilian artist's first survey show in New York, and the first exhibition to open in the New Museum's main galleries since the controversial "Skin Fruit."
