Design Miami/Basel to Head to Seoul
Design Miami/Basel is doing so well in Basel that it’s planning on expanding to Seoul, South Korea in 2012.

The fair, a two-year-old joint partnership between Miami real estate developer Craig Robins and Art Basel owner Messe Schweiz Group, made preliminary agreements in Basel this week with officials from South Korea. The timing for the first event in Seoul will depend on the progress of the city’s new design museum and convention center, designed by Zaha Hadid. The chairman of the Seoul Design Foundation, Young Gull Kwon, presented a formal letter from Seoul mayor Se-Hoon Oh in Basel this week, inviting Robins to Korea in March next year. In 2010 Seoul will become the World Design Capital.
