Party in the Garden (and Chelsea)

The Museum of Modern Arts 41st annual Party in the Garden, honoring artists featured over the past year in solo exhibitions and installations at MoMA and P.S.1, was held last night at the museum. Grammy award–winning R&B musician Estelle performed, and DJ Cassidy spun a set at the after-dinner dance. The party benefits MoMA's annual fund and the maintenance of the Abby Aldrich Sculpture Garden, as well as the museum’s general operating fund. A slew of artists, collectors, and celebrities were in attendance, including Aernout Mik, Brice Marden, Glenn Close, Candice Bergen, Agnes Gund, Caroline Kennedy, and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg. MoMA President Marie-Josée Kravis said the party was about “opening the museum to the artists and the community and having fun.”

Plus, last Thursday, ARTINFO was back at Chelsea gallery-hopping. We visited openings at Ricco/Maresca, Nicholas Robinson Gallery, Yvon Lambert New York, and Claire Oliver.
