British architects Caruso St John have been announced as the designers for this year’s Frieze Art Fair. Twice shortlisted for the RIBA Stirling Prize (2000 and 2006), the firm has previously worked on several art world commissions, including the New Gallery Walsall in Birmingham, Gagosian Gallerys London branches, and a gallery and office unit for Damien Hirsts company Science Ltd. Adam Caruso, the larger-than-life Irish director of the practice, commented, “We enjoy projects that are light on their feet and look forward to the challenge of making the spatial experience of the fair even more memorable and enjoyable.”

The fair’s Regent’s Park tent was designed by David Adjaye until 2006, when Jamie Fobert took the reins. Fobert evidently enjoyed the task: He has a similar commission on view in Barbican Gallerys current "Martian Museum of Terrestrial Art" exhibition, on view through May 18.
