Aldrich Award Goes to Sculptor Huma Bhabha
The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, Conn., has awarded its 2008 Emerging Artist Award to the neo-primitivist sculptor Huma Bhabha. The award comes with a $5,000 prize and a solo exhibition at the museum, scheduled for September 14, 2008 to February 8, 2009. Bhabha, who was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and now lives in Poughkeepsie, is represented by the New York galleries Salon 94 and ATM Gallery. Her work was included in the "Greater New York" exhibition at P.S.1 and MoMA in 2005.
