Sotheby’s Australia will auction its most valuable collection of Important Jewels, including antique and contemporary jewels and watches, on December 6, 2017. 

The sale, comprising of 286 lots and estimated between $3.98 million and $5.74 million, includes a magnificent selection of designer and iconic pieces from Bulgari, Cartier, Chopard, Graff, David Webb, Rolex, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels, together with an impressive selection of affordable and aspirational diamonds, colored diamonds, and precious gemstones.

Listed below are some of the leading highlights of the auction:

Festive earrings – The cover lot of the sale catalogue is a pair of 18 ct white gold, sapphire, and diamond pendant earrings by Graff (estimated between $100,000 and $150,000). Each surmount is claw-set with a pear-shaped sapphire partially framed by a crescent motif pavé-set with diamonds, suspending an open work chandelier motif. These are bordered by claw-set marquise-shaped and brilliant-cut diamonds, accented by crescent-shaped dividers pavé-set with diamonds supporting lines of briolette sapphires of blue, green, pink, and yellow tint, terminating on a line of briolette sapphire swing drops that are surmounted by claw-set brilliant-cut diamonds.

Dazzling diamonds – The sale will offer a selection of high quality diamonds, including an 18 ct white gold and round brilliant-cut 10.19 carat diamond ring (estimated between $320,000 and $420,000) and a platinum, 4.57 carat fancy intense yellow diamond and diamond ring (estimated between $100,000 and $150,000). An additional highlight is a platinum brilliant-cut diamond necklace by Shenoa & Co. (estimated between $150,000 and $200,000) and a pair of 18ct white gold brilliant-cut 3.01 carat diamond ear studs by Jan Logan (estimated between $80,000 and $120,000).

Nobel jewels – Diamonds formerly in the collection of Anna Pawlowna von Holstein-Gottrop-Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia, Queen of the Netherlands, form a 19th century tiara modeled as a line of graduated fleur-de-lys motifs (estimated between $25,000 and $35,000).

Dynamic watches – The impressive selection of watches at the sale include a fine 18ct white gold diamond-set wristwatch and bracelet by Choppard, with an automatic winding movement (estimated between $60,000 and $90,000).
