Komische Oper Berlin presents Pjotr I. Tschaikowski's Jewgeni Onegin which will run through January 22nd 2017 in Berlin.
Barrie Kosky, the artistic director and head director takes one of the most iconic unhappy love stories of operatic literature: Tchaikovsky's Eugene Onegin. Baritone Günter Papendell is back in form as he proves his powerful range as a vocalist and actor in the role of the titular hero who suffers as a result of his own arrogance. Heart-felt melodies, choruses in the Russian folk tradition and a richl instrumented orchestral sound await.
