Jim Dine’s New Prints at Alan Cristea Gallery, London

“Poet Singing,” an exhibition featuring a survey of new prints by American artist Jim Dine will run from February 9, through March 11, 2017, at Alan Cristea Gallery, London.

The selection on display includes eight new previously unseen prints depicting singing poets. These new prints have been developed over the past 12 months with various master printmakers in Austria, Paris, and the US and involves the use of a wide set of techniques. Along with new prints, works dating from 2013 to 2016 will also be featured in the exhibition, which includes a recent series of large abstract prints, and Dines’ reinvention of the iconic motifs of hearts, bathrobes, and Venuses. Jim Dine has been creating, performing, and publishing poetry simultaneously with making art since the 1950s and is recognized as a renowned poet, as well as a painter and printmaker.
