The prestigious private villa of La Vigie on the French Riviera in Monaco will be the site of the first edition of the NOMAD collectible design event in 2017 from April 27-30. The new annual travelling showcase for collectible design, which will be held at a different architectural location each year, is the brainchild of publishing, art, and luxury brand specialist Giorgio Pace and architect, curator, and consultant Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte.
The inaugural edition of NOMAD will bring together a maximum of 15 international galleries, both new and established, within the rooms and spaces of Villa La Vigie, creating an engaging environment for collectors, architects, and interior designers from around the world. The event will also present a parallel program of talks and events in the gardens and terraces of Villa La Vigie and at select private residences across Monaco.
Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte state: “NOMAD will rethink the classic idea of fairs and exhibitions to create an event that is bespoke, intimate and that presents work in a radically new context. We hope to attract a community of individuals that is looking for a new experience, and we’re incredibly excited to begin our journey in Monaco next spring. La Vigie’s rich history and beautiful architecture provides the perfect location to realise our vision.”
