Remai Modern is hosting an exhibition of Thomas Hirschhorn titled “SELF-PIXEL, 2016,” which will run through September 30, 2016, in Saskatoon.

The internationally acclaimed Hirschhorn is best known for his gigantic, engaging artworks that employ banal materials, old images and texts that provoke viewers into thinking critically for themselves and facing the world’s present realities. The artist explains the exhibition’s title, saying that pixelation isn’t a technique or system but a decision. To add or remove a pixel or even cut it further is a political decision.

The exhibition is on view at Remai Modern, 102 Spadina Crescent E, Saskatoon, SK S7K 6P8, Canada
