Description
This sale features a range of superb survivals of American furniture and folk art, ranging from the William and Mary period through the 19th century. The sale includes a newly discovered John Townsend four-shell bureau table and a highly praised William and Mary carved maple side chair with dramatic rams’ heads arms attributed to John Gaines III of Portsmouth, New Hampshire and perhaps the best known example of a Boston Queen Anne carved mahogany tea table.
