One of four films by director Fred Zinnemann screening at the Getty Center this April, the classic and controversial western High Noon highlights the plight of a sheriff (Gary Cooper) who faces the town's former enemies alone. The Getty Center celebrates the sixtieth anniversary of High Noon with a conversation featuring the director's son, Tim Zinnemann; Gary Cooper's daughter, Maria Cooper Janis; and Getty scholar Jennifer Smyth.
